The next 5 states to go fully green.

Posted on October 24 2015

I decided to compile a list of the next 5 states likely to legalize recreational marijuana. Maybe you want to book your holiday. Maybe you want to plan you retirement. Whatever. Here’s a list (in no particular order).

1. California

So, marijuana has been legal in California since 1996, but only in a medicinal sense. next November, it will vote to allow recreational weed, and polls indicate the amendment will likely pass. This could be key to any change in Federal law as California has so many members in Congress.

2. Maine

The way life should be? Almost? Maine’s legislators may have rejected the legalisation of recreational marijuana this summer, but the state's voters have taken measures into their own hands. A signature drive to put legalization on the 2016 ballot is underway.

3. Massachusetts

Massachusetts opened its first medical dispensary this summer, and many believe the state will legalize weed by referendum in 2016. "Polls show voters are poised to pass full legalization next November," says Angell (of Marijuana Majority).

4. Vermont

Will the Green Mountain State become the next green state? Probably not the next one, but hopefully soon after, with Vermont's attorney general predicting legalization in 2016.

5. Nevada

Nevada will almost certainly become a Nirvana for the hedonistic with Amanda Reiman of the DPA saying “legalization seems like a given.” It just makes too much sense, finally at least, for Nevada and, well, Vegas, to legalise. Surely only a matter of time?

The following states are likely to be the next with legal weed.
    Rhode Island

Ohio is prime to be the next state with legal weed. The only problem is that certain groups have promised to tie it up in court if either prop passes.

What about Ohio? On our Nov. 3rd ballot……
